Patriotic Telephone Appeal
HIS Saturday, June 24, the National Broadcasting Service will co-operate with the Post and Telegraph Department in the 1944 Patriotic Fund Telephone Appeal, and readers may see from the programmes printed in last week’s issue that it will begin at 6.45 p.m. with an address by the Governor-General, Progress reports on Dominion totals will be given over a linkup at 8.5, 9.15, 10.15, 11.15 p.m., and at midnight. We print an alphabetical list showing which telephone number you Should ring to offer your donation. The zoning of stations will be the same in most cases as it was for the local body elections, so in order to hear your donation acknowledged you should tune in to the station which gave you your election results on May 27. Phone your donation to the number shown against your town in this list, or _if you are a subscriber to a manual exchange (including Eastbourne), ask the operator for "Patriotic."
