Church Service in Maori

NSTEAD of the usual church broadcast from 2YA on the evening of February 6, there will be a broadcast in Maori of an address by the Rt. Rev. J. G. Laughton, Superintendent of Maori Missions and former Moderator of the Presbyterian Church. The music for this’ service will be provided by a choir of girls from the Turakina Maori Girls’ College, who will sing in their own tongue. The service, which will begin at 7.0 p.m., will be directed to the whole Maori race, soldiers as well as civilians, and will be within broadcast range of the leading Maori settlements in both islands. It is expected also that the Maori singing will give it a big Pakeha audience.
