It is a good chapter, though already, one hopes, superfluous; and the answer to his critics is good and amusing reading, though Dr. Smith will snort to be told so. He does not~-like being laughed at, or even laughed with, though it is not clear why. But he will have to put up with it or cease being funny, and that is something he can no longer do,
