NITTING WOOL totalling 2500 pounds a month is now being sup plied to the Air Force Relations organ. isation which, with its headquarters in Wellington, has branches throughout the Dominion, This wool quota, an increase of 1000 pounds on the former monthly quota, is being supplied by the National Patriotic Fund Board in order to assist Air Force Relations to meet the greatly increased demand for woollen comforts occasioned by the rapid expansion of personnel in the Royal New Zealand Air Force. The increase means that the Air Force Relations organisation needs almost to double-up on its strength of knitters. In the past, there have been more knitters offering their services than there has been wool to be knitted, and it is, therefore, considered that there will be little, if any, delay, in the increased wool supply, resulting in an increased output of wooller’ garments. To this end, Air Force Relations is at present asking those who volunteered their services when there was not enough wool to meet all requests, to volunteer again, and hopes to attract new: knitters as well, Since it. was formed a month after war broke out, Air Force Relations has provided in the neighbourhood of 100,000 woollen garments to some 25,000 airmen. The wool, and the finance for premise: and administration, are supplied by the National Patriotic Fund Board.
