N Sunday, June 20, at 5.30 p.m., there will be a special broadcast of Command Performance, U.S.A, This is not part of the usual series, but is a special programme dedicated by America to the British Army. It is scheduled to play on the first day of "Army Week" of the Liberty Loan Campaign. * * * OMMAND PERFORMANCE will play at the usual time of 9.30 p.m. The compéres for the week following (June 27), are as follow: 1ZB, Rita Hayworth; 2ZB, Betty Grable; 3ZB, Joan Blondell; and 4ZB, Bob Hope. * x * S a result of the U.S. Marine Corps band programme broadcast by the ZB stations, a parcel of American programmes is on its way to Lieutenant Fred Bowes, .bandmastér of the 2nd N.Z.E.F. Base Band at Maadi, Egypt. Following the broadcast from Wellington, Frank Sykes, of Eltham, himself an old bandsman, wrote to Marine Gunner Olaquez, bandmaster of the Marine Corps Band, congratulating him, and passing on a request from Lieut, Bowes for some of Sousa’s well known marches, The music is now on its way to Egypt. Mr. Sykes’s son is solo cornet player in the 2nd N.Z.E.F. Base Band. * * x NEW programme which may be heard from 2ZB on Wednesday evenings at 8.45 is Memories of the Old Drawing Room. Listeners will hear many of the old favourites they used to hear in the family circle, | : x * * THs 1S MAGIC, which was previously scheduled for 8.45 p.m. on Wednesdays, is now to come over the air at

5.30 p.m. on Tuesdays. Children have been anxious to hear this programme, and 5.30 p.m. should prove a good time for them. Besides the story ‘which goes with each episode, there is an explanation each time of a popular sleight-of-hand trick, and anybody wishing for fuller details of how the trick is done, may write to 2ZB for full particulars.
