Better Late Than Never

It says something for the perplexities of the times that Professor T. D. Adams, who is almost invariably up-to-the

minute and topical in anything he says, is fifteen days late this year with his readings "On Fishing." Though the fishing season in general opened on October 1, Professor Adams won’t be heard from 4YA until this Friday, October 16, But he will be worth waiting for, to fishermen at least. And lest anyone seize on that to make the old joke about patience and the fisherman, let us quote from a book we read the other day: "The fisherman fishes as the urchin eats a cream bun, from lust. You might as well talk about the patience of Tarquin." For those who like their piscatorial expressionism on a somewhat higher plane, we might mention that Professor Adams will be preceded and followed by selections from Mayerl’s "Aquarium Suite" and that "The Trout" by Liszt (played by Egon Petri) is also included in the programme.
