Dog Days at 3YA
Latest in the sirius of dog-stars which Mrs. A, M. Spence Clark is presenting from 3YA are the Newfoundland and the Labrador, two noble animals on which
she will discourse next Tuesday forenoon. In this connection we would point out that the canine in the illustration is a St. Bernard and represents another of those aberrations for which our artist is notorious, and for which we request your indulgence. St. Bernards, of course, are foreign, not Empire, whereas. both Labradors and Newfoundlands are bred in the Best British Traditions, the former bein’ useful for huntin’ and shootin’ and the latter for fishin’. We might add that St. Bernards nowadays carry vitamin tablets instead of brandy. Salus populi suprema lex esto, as the good monks would put it.
