As from Monday, December 8, the ZB stations will broadcast "headline" news only at the following times: 6. 0 a.m. 12.15 p.m. 6.15 p.m. 7. 0 a.m. 1.15 p.m. 8. 0 p.m. 8.45 a.m. 4.30 p.m. 11. 0 p.m? The broadcasts at 1.15 p.m., 4.30 p.m., and 8.0 p.m, are additions to the current schedulé, and are taken direct from London. The nine news broadcasts will give the news in headline form, but items of special importance will be broadcast in their entirety, even if received at other than the scheduled times. Announcing the alterations, Mr. Scrimgeour stated that the Commercial Broadcasting Service was fully aware of listeners’ interest in the BBC news, but was satisfied that they preferred frequent broadcasts of the short headline type to a repetition of full bulletins.
