Sir,-May I congratulate The Listener on being the only periodical in New Zealand to print the account of the Conference called in Englafid by the Archbishop of York, and now of the Cafiadian Conference? In the confusion that is the inevitable aftermath of war we shall need a clear and dispassionately considered lead if we afe to tebuild our democracy on such foundations that it will be really democratic and preventive of futufe war, and it is very good to find the Church both taking a lead in imaginative thinking about recofistruction and finding a sympathetic medium of public expression apaft from its pulpits.

LINDA

BENNETT
