KEYS WANTED
aan Aunt» Daisy wants a_ million Yale keys. It is an eccentric request, concealing a novel drive for non-ferrous metals. The idea was passed on to Aunt Daisy by a member of her "Daisy Chain" who had received a letter from Aberdeen describing a campaign which had brought in 11 tons of metal this way. Although Aunt Daisy has only mentioned it over the air a few times, 2ZB has received over 4000 keys so far, and other stations are not far behind. All sorts of metal ornaments and trinkets which have escaped the Government’s appeal for non-fer-rous metals have also turned up. One old woman sent in a pair of beautifully engraved brass candlesticks, These were obviously too valuable to destroy, so Aunt Daisy is auctioning them over the air and adding the amount realised to the pool. She has already received an | offer of £1.
