The P.E.N.
The P.E.N. proclaims itself as "a world association of writers," and numbers many famous authors among its members. It was founded by Dawson Scott shortly after the last war, and presidents have included John Galsworthy, H. G. Wells, and H. W. Nevinson. Jules Romains is the international president now, and Storm Jameson is London president. New Zealand president is Alan Mulgan, and vice-presidents are Mona Tracy, Jane Mander, James Cowan, C. R. Allen, G. G. Stewart, Eileen Duggan, Guy H: Scholefield, Johannes Andersen, and C, A. L. Treadwell. New Zealand has been represented at several international conferences of P.E.N. at Buenos Aires, Barcelona and Paris. The international office in Paris has! been submerged in the tide of Nazi invasion
