Early Release Of "Great Dictator"
Arrangements have now been completed for the early showing in New Zealand of Charlie Chaplin’s famous film "The Great Dictator," through all theatres controlled by Amalgamated Theatres Lid. The arrangements were made with Cecil Marks, General Manager of United. Artists (A’sia) Pty. Ltd., who came over from Sydney to complete therm. The importance of the event is indicated by the fact that the film is to be shown simultaneously in four main cities in the Dominion. The film has caused international repercussions, and has the distinction of being the first in history to be officially "boosted" by the BBC
