Magician at the Mike
Magicians visiting New Zealand invariably seem to broadcast from 1ZB. There was Chang, the Chinese magician who gave several broadcasts a year or so ago, and who took great pleasure in mystifying the studio staff while the broadcasts were in progress. Latest is Levante, now touring New Zealand, who was interviewed by John Gordon in two interesting sessions, Levante gave listeners some little known facts about the profession of magic, which is one of the oldest in the world. He told the story of the famous Chinese magician whose popularity in America was tremendous, He was really an Irishman with a homely Irish name, but he toured successfully with an authentic Chinese company for many years. :
