MANY FEWER LICENCES A reduction of nearly 19,000 in the mumber of radio licences at present in force in New Zealand is shown in the Postmaster-General’s return for the month ended April 20, 1940. This table shows the position, with comparisons:

~ It will be noticed that a similar reduction took place over the vame period last year This years return for April shows that there were 326,108 receivers: Auckland, 105,668; Canterbury, 61,013; Otago, 44,147; Wellington, 115,280. The dealers’ total was 903, an increase from the 846 for the same period last year, but a decrease from the 1,128 licensed in March this year.
