4ZB: Joyce of 4ZB is the bright young lass who conducts the Home Service Session in Dunedin. This session is devoted more particularly to the housewife, interspersed with commercial announcements. Joyce gives hints on beauty, answers household problems received from correspondents (of whom Joyce has many), and also deals with a host of problems connected with cooking, dress--making, fancy-work and knitting. In one afternoon, Joyce is required to answer problems ranging from taking putty off a blind to giving an ideal menu for dinner. In every sense of the word it can be called a real utility session, and Joyce is an information bureau for the harassed housewife
