Creamed Mushrooms

Remove the stems from IIb. of mushrooms, and wash, but do not peel them. Melt 3 ounces of butter in a saucepan, and cook the mushrooms, adding a little lemon juice. Simmer slowly, then take them out and keep them warm. Add about a tablespoon of flour to the butter in the saucepan, stirring with a wooden spoon. Add halt a cup of milk, then slowly, one gill of cream. Season with salt and pepper, replace the mushrooms, and serve hot.
