Sergeant J. E. F. Perry, for forty years on the staff of the Wellington Public Library, is now in charge of the library at Trentham Camp. He says that the. ratio of good books is as high in the military library .as in any first-class public library. There is a demand for more serious books-biography, travel, etc.-for many of the men are studious readers. Because a number of reference books have been asked for, provision has been made to deal with such requests by sending the books out from public libraries for a limited time. This applies to every camp in New Zealand in which there is an established library.
