And Still Easier
A water lily doubles itself daily. In one day it fills one square foot. In twenty it fillsquite a big space. After a long, long time, it fills a whole lake, of quite considerable dimensions. In 237 days, forgetting about winter time, the lily covers the whole expanse of water. If you can’t be bothered to work out the area of the. lake, perhaps you'll know just on what day the lily filled half the surface?
