Learn by Radio

a eee. sk ee Oe RD ot ae ee The movement for giving children lessons by radio has. advanced in leaps and bounds recently, and already in New Zealand a wide range of subjects is covered by competent speakers. In U.S.A. a station has been built to send out programmes for schools only. This station is at Cleveland. It is run by local authorities with money from one of the Rockefeller endowments. At the present time about 60 schools, with 12,000 pupils, receive lessons, but soon 150 . schools, with 138,000 listeners, will be given lessons in art, music, history, and other subjects. It would appear that the day may come when we will no longer find the schoolboy "creeping like snail," but going to school because he likes it!
