N.Z. POWER BOAT ASSOCIATION.

The New Zealand Power Boat Association held a series of races on the Waitemata on Saturday afternoon, some first-rate racing resulting, the contestants being numerous and the finishes interesting. Commodore A. Brett acted as timekeeper, while Mr. W. B. Eyre’s handicapping was productive of some keen competition. The results of the racing were as follows: 6% Knot Race (for boats over seven knots and a-half speed).—Shadow (lm. 15s), 41m. 255., 1; Maroro (10m. 155.), 50m. 405., 2; Zealandia (Bm. 455.), 49m. 155., 3. Also started: Seabreeze, Sybil, Bertha 8., Zephyr, Seabird, Eliza, Alleyne, Winsome, Buffalo Bill, Kotiro. A fine race, only 20 seconds separating the first three boats. sy 2 Knots Race (for boats of seven and a-half knots speed and under).— •Countess (scratch), 51m., 1; Beatrice (5m.), 56m. 235., 2; Marore (lm. 305.), 52m 545., 3. Also started: Mavis, Houtourou, Tahatu, Perfection 11., Matakana, Raumati, Dione, Omaki, Cygnet, Nelson, Victory, Nimrod. Mavis and Houtourou finished first and second respectively, but were disqualified for breaches of the rules governing the association’s races. The second and third boats passed the post almost in a line, and there was only about one minute between the first seven boats.
