Around 100 people attended the launch of the Puketi Forest Trust in the Far North. The trust aims to improve the health of the forest through pest control. Local kaumatua Wiremu Wiremu, Dover Samuels MP (seen here speaking) and Forest and Bird’s Far North chairman, Dr Gary Bramley, all emphasised that this project aims to restore the mauri and the mana of the forest for future generations.
