Take a drink With you
erries service Rangitoto Wharf on a schedule through the week: climb the mountain most quickly from Rangitoto Wharf. There is no running water on Rangitoto, and the water butts for fire fighting are polluted. In the extreme temperatures which can be generated on the open rocks dehydration can be a serious problem. Take an adequate supply of drinking water with you. Wear strong footwear, and preferably boots away from the wharf areas, as the rough stones can bruise feet.
