meeting of the year ‘in the field’, Forest and Bird branch representatives met in November at Pudding Hill, near Methven and the Rakaia River, in inland midCanterbury. The temporary closure of Wellington airport meant many councillors could not make the journey but those who did were able to see issues relating to the Society’s high-country campaign at first hand. the tradition of holding its second council
