Great Barrier Island
J.E. LOWE
Congratulations to Dr Gerry McSweeney for highlighting Great Barrier as a place of enormous importance in the future for the preservation of our biodiversity, as smaller islands reach their carrying capacity (Comment, Forest & Bird, February 2002). As the island will continue to be settled, it makes good sense
to begin now on a visionary scheme with the local residents to develop a priceless wildlife asset.
