Tal Haruru Lodge

ai Haruru Lodge is a fine place to use as a base for exploring the Waitakere Ranges west of Auckland, and the setting of Forest and Bird’s west coast marine park campaign. Set amongst coastal pohutukawa forest at Piha, the lodge has access from the bottom of its section to Piha Beach. Situated in Garden Rd, North Piha, Tai Haruru is within easy walking distance of tracks

giving access to the Centennial Memorial Park. It also lies near the Claude Abel Reserve, a tranquil freshwater oasis covered in water lilies and surrounded by lush native vegetation. The Lodge was gifted to Forest and Bird by Mr and Mrs H S Davenport in 1981. The Lodge has two self-contained units, one large with double bed and three single beds, the other smaller with four single beds.
