Jorge Santos, manager of the Department of Conservation’s native plant nursery in Canterbury, has been awarded the year 2000 Loder Cup for conservation. The award recognises his work, helping to return native plants to the Canterbury countryside. A key part of this has been encouraging people to use native plants instead of exotic species.
