Goat Island Marine Reserve
by Jenny and Tony Enderby, 64pp, published by the authors, PO Box 139, Leigh 1240, 1998, RRP$18.
Here is an identification guide to the underwater inhabitants of New Zealand’s first marine reserve, at Leigh on the Rodney Coast beyond Warkworth. Local photographers Jenny and Tony Enderby have published their own guide to a favourite place. Unfortunately their home-made colour scans don’t always do justice to their superb photography but at only $18 for 100 colour photographs who is complaining? The book could be useful elsewhere in the north, sadly toooften as a guide to what ought to be, if only the coast were given adequate protection.
