Planting native trees at Flock House, near Bulls, to mark the November council meeting are from left, executive councillor Di Menzies of Christchurch, Ines Stager, (South Canterbury), Christine Henderson, executive councillor from Southland and Claire Stevens (North Shore). The conference hosts, Rangitikei Forest and Bird, gave a kowhai to every visiting councillor: several chose to plant them there and then, among the predominately exotic vegetation of the former agricultural training school.
