Lunching atop Kapiti Island are members of the Labour Weekend national camp held to celebrate the Society's 75th anniversary. Besides visiting the island, celebrated as the first place protected by the Society, members visited the wetland restoration project at Lake Horowhenua featured in Forest & Bird, May 1998. Wellington regional branches hosted the camp which attracted 120 people.
