THE SOUTH-WEST NEW ZEALAND WORLD HERITAGE BOOK
Special Pre-publication Oler
A: part of our campaign to secure World Heritage status for the whole of the South-West of New Zealand, the Society is to publish the South-West New Zealand World Heritage book. Taking in the area from Okarito in the north to Waitutu in the south, the book will be produced to the same exacting standards of our much-acclaimed South-West World Heritage Calendar. Features of the book include: * Informative, exciting text written by well known conservation essayists — Craig Potton, Les Molloy, Kevin Smith, Gerry McSweeney, Colin O'Donnell, Guy Salmon, as well as famous writer Keri Hulme of Okarito. * Scenic and wildlife photos by NZ’s foremost natural history photographers. * Explanatory maps and diagrams * Soft cover, A4 full colour throughout This book will not date. As a celebration of the most pristine area of New Zealand, it will touch on a number of themes — geology, vegetation, wildlife, Maori settlement, European discovery, recreation — that have never been brought together in one publication before.
