Discover the great southern forests
This summer our West Coast conservation officer Kevin Smith will be leading three superb week-long natural history field trips organised specially for North Island people. These non-profit-making trips are being offered by Forest & Bird to show people the wonders of South Westland’s untouched kahikatea forests, flax swamps, sea coast seals and penguins and seek your support to protect them. Tour costs of approximately $500 from Wellington and $650 from Auckland include return air travel to Hokitika, tour coach, motel and lodge accommodation, all meals and expert guides.
