Marshall Prints was elected to Publisher membership by the Court of the Fine Art Trade Guild of London. To celebrate this election as the first New Zealand publishing member of the Guild, Marshall Prints is publishing the premier edition of a de Luxe series of reproductions. Published to the finest standards_ on imported, 100 % cotton rag, acid free paper, this de Luxe edition will be limited worldwide to 350 signed copies. The edition is subject to the approval of the Fine Art Trade Guild which is accepted today as the one non-profit organisation which authenticates Limited Editions of reproductions signed by the artists' own hand. Their embossed authentication stamp under the left hand corner of the picture guarantees that the picture has not been published previously and will not be published or offered for sale in any other form. The artist_ Janet Marshall_ was born at Dagenham, England in 1947, coming to New Zealand at the age of eleven. Now married with two young children she lives in rural Taranaki. As a family they are replanting their property to enhance its potential as a bird sanctuary. Since being commissioned by Reed Publishers to produce book plates for the Mobil series of Common and Uncommon Birds of New Zealand, she has developed her talents and become a widely respected bird illustrator. Sales of her books now exceed 120,000 copies and since 1976 she has published 21 paintings in Limited Editions. This year she has published a distinctive poster of New Zealand Bush Birds to support the Wanted Alive Campaign of the Wildlife Service .
