Sea-Birds Cry to the Wide World.
At last there is a definite prospect of effective international action to make the seven seas safe for birds. Meanwhile mastermariners can do much to lessen the menace of oil. For example, Captain George Alwood, of the Nucula, which trades between California and New Zealand, takes care that his ship is in the middle of the Pacific Ocean before he washes out the cargo tanks.
