SOCIAL NOTES.
Mis-s Callender is visiting- Queenstown. The .Misses Bews are spending a week in Dunedin. Mrs Hag-gitt, Kelvin Road, gave a most enjoyable bridge party on Friday evening for Miss Ronaldson. Mr H. B. Farnel has gone on a short visit to Auckland. Mrs A. Le TI. Hoyles is spending a few weeks in Queenstown. A. most delightfnl dance was given last Wednesday, by Mrs C. S. Longuet, for the younger set — her son's friends. Everythin.g went with a swing from the start, and all the arrangements were perfect. The large room u.s,ed for dancing opened on to wide verandahs, closed in and furnished for sitting out. A sumptuous supper was served in the large dining room, the tables being beautifully decorpted with spring flowers as were the drawing-room and other rcorns. Among those present beside the hosfc and hostess and Mr Paul Longuet, were : Mr and Mrs F. C. Rowley, the Misses Morran, Haggitt, E. Field, Carswell, Guthrie (2), K. Galbraith, Bonnie Vvhlson, Leila Hawley, Anderson, P. Brodie, and M. Logan ; Messrs Royds, Keddell, 11. Ilewat, E. Dale, Dundas, Caverhill, Brougbton, Rac, St. George, Brown, Mac. Gregor, Mahoney, Reed, Irving, and Dalgliesh.
