SPORTS' UNI0N PREMIER SATURDAY CLUB. Union (17) v. Bluff (5). The teams were : — Union. — Backs : Middlemiss ; Roberts, Eunson, McDonald ; L. Kelly, Ashley ; E. Kelly, ; forwards, Murray, MiRs, Galbraith, Lawrence, Robertson, Smitk, Leete, and Stewart. -Bluff.— Backs : Woods ; Dawson, Johnston, Phillipson; Latimer, Finnerty ; Morris; forwards, Beaton, Cooper, Barker, West, Galbraith, Hamilton, Crozier, and Potter- . i a •+ Uiiion's win was very popular, and it was with a feeling of relief that Saturday players saw the competition ended. The insistance of jepresentative matches has robbed the w,eek-end games of their interest, and the feeling had been growing that the contest should sparkle up or finish, the match of the Saturday before proving a very laggard affair, and too few Saturday men had any* chance of a game in the Interprovincial matches. Bluff went out weak, but should have another try, which unfortunately the referee did not see. The game developed into a contest between Kelly of Union and Potter of Bluff. Each of these men has a future. Bluff had passengers and Union were all out to win, the absence of Cockroft keying them up. Had Union's centre come up for his passes, Union would have made a much larger score, their 5 tries being all good ones, Kelly showing in most of 'them. Lawrence was in happy mood in the forwards and played well. Bluff scored from a line out and kicked an excellent goal, without Finnerty's help. Union thus hold 14 Banner points — 3 ahead of the next team — and the premiership for 1920. They have been a consistent forward team. Next year they should favour a back attack as well, their last game showing giving promise.
