A QUARRY HILLS DIGGER DIGS IN.
At Quarry Hills one day last week, A case came up before the beak. Accused who bore a "Noble" name, And who in war had played the game, W7as chai'ged with, on a certain day Assaulting on the King's highway, One of the two home service cre&tures l With intent to mar his manly features. One witness came to testify That he that day was passing by And paused upon his way and ran To rescue that home service man. The heak who o'er the court presided With brief reflection then decided, And warned defend,ant there and then Never to hurt home service men. And asked if he had ever been Charged before with being so tuean, His life-long "Noble" name to lower By spilling such home service gore. The culprit merely made reply "The charge I never will deny, But, as you know, the victim jeers And teases those who fought for yeats. And next time I shall give him m jre, I'll leave him black and blue ind sore, His modest features I'll disguise, I'll stroke his 'tease' and 'dot' his eyes." Now one thing more I must repcrfc, That is the sentenco of the court, "Next time you're out a fight to start Look out that Albert and his cart Shall not be turning up just when You're punishing home service men.'
