THE BATMAN.
Who gets up early in the morn, Disheveiled hair and locks forlorn, .And wishes he had ne'er been born? — The Batman. Who tries to make the buttons shine Too bright, to go up near the line, And fit for any broker's sign? — The Batman. Who runs for this, and runs for that, A fussin' round like a barber's cat; Or, like a terrier chase a rat? — 0 The Batman. Who wasltes clothes as good as new, And makes a bed or cooks a stew ; I11 fact there's naught lie cannot do?— The Batman. And who can do, 'but aught that's right From break of day till late at night, And O.C. wishfes out, of sight? — "Me-ex Batman." But who, when all is said and done A finished wgrk has lots of fun, That's if you haven't had your run? — "Mr Batman." And who can of great battles "skite" As Messines Ridge and Yimy Height, But only does by candle light?— "Some Batman." 1 Who very seldom have to fighf Except for meals, their chief delight, 'Tis tlien they do their bit, too right? — Most Batmen. Oh God ! If there's another war, For me who came so far, Be pleased to grant just one lon,e star, — and Batman. • — By one who lost kis job, 4th N.Z.E.
