Memorandum.— It is quite impossible to furnish this Return in time for the steamer ; a month at least would be required; and even then the result would be a mere approximation. A great extent of country, reperted as having been surveyed, requires re-adjustment. Ha guess is of any value, taking the whole of the land acquired from the Natives in the province at say three millions and a half (3,500,000) acres, not more than one hundred thousand (100 0001 or one thirty-fifth (1-35) can be considered as surveyed. * (Signed) ROBERT PARR, Cbief Surveyor.
