Coal Mines Amendment Bill I am directed to report that the Goldfields and Mines Committee, to which was referred the Coal Mines Amendment Bill, has duly considered the same, and recommends that the Bill be allowed to proceed, subject to the amendment shown on a copy.of the Bill attached hereto. 26th September, 1950. No. 18/1948 —Petition of H. S. Curtis and others, of Colville Praying for relief in re limestone mining licence on Moehau 4a 2 Block. I am directed to report that the member who presented the petition having expressed a desire to withdraw the same, the Committee recommends that he be allowed to do so. Special Report I have the honour to report that at its final meeting the Goldfields and Mines Committee unanimously passed the following resolution : " That the Goldfields and Mines Committee desires to record its appreciation of the competent and courteous manner in which the Chairman, Mr. Hallyburton Johnstone, has conducted the affairs of the Committee during the session, and that this resolution be reported to the House."
