Special Report I HAVE the honour to report that the Public Petitions M to Z Committee has passed the following Resolution : " That the proceedings of the Public Petitions M to Z Committee during the taking of evidence on the petition of Bruce Murray, be open to the public and accredited representatives of the press, and that the Chairman do report this resolution to the House and move the adoption thereof by the House." 24th August, 1950. -J. J. Maker, Chairman. No. 23—Petition of J. H. McConville Praying for compensation for the cancellation of a hotel licence. I am directed to report that the Committee has carefully considered this petition, and has no recommendation to make. 30th August, 1950. G. R. Hereon, for Chairman. No. 12—Petition of B. Murray Praying for reinstatement in the Ministry of Works, for the making good of monetary loss, and compensation for alleged wrongful dismissal. I have the honour to report that the Public Petitions M to Z Committee has carefully considered this petition, and recommends that it be referred to the Government for consideration. Ist November, 1950. No. 42—Petition of R. Solway, of Wellington Praying for the grant of a tenancy of a State rental house, the grant of a social security benefit, and other relief. I am directed to report that the Committee has carefully considered this petition, and recommends that it be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. The Committee recommends to the Government that the State Advances Corporation be requested to endeavour, as early as convenient, to find a home for the petitioner, his mother, and step-sister. 16th November, 1950. No. 46—Petition of J. Orsulich and Antunija Orsulich, of Auckland Praying for the grant of the full age-benefit. I am directed to report that the Committee has carefully considered this petition, and recommends that it be referred to the Government for most favourable consideration. 16th November, 1950. J. J.
