Since the inception of the main highways system all field investigations, designing, and supervision, apart from that carried out by local authorities, have been undertaken, for the Board by the Works Department, which receives payment in accordance with approved arrangements. The Board acknowledges the continued co-operation, and greatly appreciates the valuable services rendered by officers of the Department.
