Extracts from the Journals of the House of Representatives Wednesday, the 7th Day op July, 1948 Ordered, " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of nine members, to consider all Bills or other matters relating to labour which may be referred to it: the Committee to consist of Mr. Chapman, Mr. McAlpine, Mr. R. Macdonald, Mr. Marshall, Mr. Mathison, Mr. Sheat, Mr. T. E. Skinner, Mr. Sullivan, and the Mover."' —(Hon. Mr. McLagan.) Ordered, " That ail petitions not finally dealt with during the session of 1947 be again referred to the same Committees as they were referred to during the said session."—(Eight Hon. Mr. Fraser.) Tuesday, the 20th Day op July, 1948 Ordered, " That the Shipping and Seamen Amendment Bill be referred to the Labour Bills Committee."'—(Hon. Mr. Hackett.) Friday, the 20th Day of August, 1948 Ordered, " That the Apprentices Bill be referred to the Labour Bills Committee."—(Hon. Mr. McLagan.) Ordered, " That the name of Mr. Sullivan be discharged from the Labour Bills Committee and that of Mr. Sutherland substituted therefor."—(Hon. Mr. McLagan.) Wednesday, the Ist Day op September, 1948 Ordered, " That the Trades Certification Bill be referred to the Labour Bills Committee."(Hon. Mr. McCombs.) Thursday, the 25th Day op November, 1948 Ordered," That the Tenancy Bill be referred to the Labour Bills Committee."—(Hon.Mr.McLagan.)

No. 7/1947 —Petition of J. H. McKenzie, of Wellington Praying for further compensation on account of injuries sustained while employed at Granity Coal-mine. I am directed to report that the Committee has considered this petition, and recommends that it be referred to the Government for consideration. 28th July, 1948.
