(a) Increases under individual items on main estimates are : clothing, boots, &c, £1,500 ; foodstuffs, supplies, &c, £5,500 ; Ordnance stores, £1,500; land, buildings, &c, £5,000; maintenance of camps, &c, £2,500; rail fares, freights, &c, £5,000; sea freights and charges, £3,000; laundry, &c, £l,OOO : total, £25,000. (b) Amount provided on main estimates, £70,000. Reduction due to other ranks being issued with free replacements of clothing in lieu of uniform upkeep allowance for first quarter of present financial year. (c) Provision to meet fares and incidental expenses of Army personnel and relatives called to attend investitures. (d) Amount provided on main estimates, £BO,OOO. Commitments considerably lower than was anticipated.
