Cook Islands Amendment Bill (Parts II and III) I have the honour to report that the Statutes Revision Committee recommends that Parts II and 111 of the Cook Islands Amendment Bill, which by order of the House dated the 3rd day of October, 1946, were referred to the Committee for consideration, be allowed to proceed without amendment. 4th October, 1946.

Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Amendment Bill I have the honour to report that the Statutes Revision Committee has further considered the Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Amendment Bill, which was referred back to the Committee by order of the House dated the 7th day of October, 1946. The Committee recommends that the Bill be allowed to proceed with the amendment shown on the copv thereof hereto attached. Bth October, 1946.

Statutes Amendment Bill I have the honour to report that the Statutes Revision Committee has carefully considered the Statutes Amendment Bill, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed with the amendments shown on the copy of the Bill hereto attached. 10th October, 1946.

No. 60.—Petition of Make a "Nut Takau Ariki and Others, of Rarotonga Praying (1) that the Cook Islands be allowed an elected representative in the New Zealand House of Representatives ; (2) that a Federal Council for the Cook Islands be instituted ; and (3) that the people of the Cook Islands be consulted in the appointment of Resident Commissioners. I have the honour to report that the Statutes Revision Committee has considered this petition, and recommends that it be referred to the Government for consideration. In making this recommendation the Committee recognizes that a part of the prayer of the petition has been already conceded by recent legislation. F. W. Schramm, Chairman. 11th October, 1946!

Special Report I have the honour to report that at its final meeting the Statutes Revision Committee passed, unanimously, the following resolution : " That this Committee places on record its high appreciation of the manner in which the Chairman, the Hon. F. W. Schramm, has conducted the business of the Committee throughout the session, and directs that this resolution be reported to the House." 11th October, 1946. R. M.
