STATE FORESTS ACCOUNT— continued

(a) Additional amount required to meet expenditure from 1945-46 fire season which did not come to charge until 1946-47. £3,320 provided on main estimates. (6) Further provision necessary to meet cost of vehicles which have come to hand earlier than anticipated. £ll,OOO provided on main estimates. (c) To meet cost of increased office accommodation. £6,600 provided on main estimates. (d) Staff position has not eased as anticipated and it will consequently be necessary to work more overtime than originally expected. £5,800 provided on main estimates. (e) Local authorities are now able to carry out more work than originally anticipated, and will thus qualify for increased claims under this item. £23,200 provided on main estimates. (/) £l,OOO provided on main estimates. Additional provision required to meet commitments in sight. (g) Provision made in main estimates underestimated (main estimates provide £l,BOO for transfer and removal expenses and £B,lOO for travelling allowances and expenses). (h) £l,OOO provided on main estimates. Additional amount required to cover expenses of two officers attending a forest-fire-fighting course in Australia.
