PART lII.—SCHOOL HYGIENE. I have the honour to submit the annual report of the Division of School Hygiene for the year 1940. Staff. At the end of the year the medical personnel comprised thirteen full-time and eight half-time School Medical Officers. The half-time officers, drawn from the ranks of married or single medical women, are giving splendid service at a time when it is impossible to maintain complete full-time strength. In addition, the four Medical Officers of Health at East Cape, Taranaki, North Auckland, and Nelson-Marlborough act as School Medical Officers in their areas.
