The Audit Office, having examined the Balance-sheet and accompanying Accounts required by law to be audited, hereby certifies them to be correct subject to the following exceptions : (1) Insufficient security has been obtained by the Board in respect of an advance of £500 made in the form of an issue of debentures to the Tuwharetoa Timber Co., Ltd. ; (2) certain advances to Board members were not confirmed by a Maori Land Board and/or are not secured as required by section 41, Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1927, and section 56, Native Purposes Act, 1931— G. F. C. Campbell, Controller and Auditor-General.
