REPORTS.

No. 4.—Petition of J. Ē. Ramsey, of Auckland. Praying that he be granted a war pension. I have the honour to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 9th October, 1935.

No. 47.—Petition of Bessie R. M. Mcßratney, of Winchester. Praying for a pension on account of her late husband's war service. I have the honour to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 9th October, 1935.

No. 18.—Petition of John W. Lilewall, of Auckland. Praying for a compassionate allowance equivalent to an old-age pension, on account of injuries allegedly sustained during the South African War. I have the honour to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration, and the Committee recommends that this is a case for a war veteran's allowance. 10th October, 1935.

No. 51. —Petition of Ida M. Rivers, of Wellington. Praying that the report and recommendation of the Defence Committee on the petition of 1934-35 be given effect to. I have the honour to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 10th October, 1935.

No. 371.—Petition of M. S. C. Gordon and 16 Others, of Havelock North. Praying for investigation into the quality of the ammunition supplied by the Defence Department to rifle clubs. I have the honour to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 10th October, 1935.

No. 374.—Petition of William Brodie, of Auckland. Praying that he be granted a pension or compassionate allowance on account of physical disability allegedly due to war service. I have the honour to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 10th October, 1935.

No. s.—Petition of R. H. Donovan, of Christchurch. Praying that he be granted a war pension. I have the honour to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 22nd October, 1935.

No. 33.—Petition of Margaret Redmond, of Auckland. Praying for a compassionate allowance in consideration of her late husband's services in the Defence Force. I have the honour to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 22nd October, 1935.
