Parkinson, Secretary, New Zealand Educational Institute, and it was decided to receive the letter, and at a later date to incorporate it in the minutes of evidence. The following gave evidence, and were questioned by members of the Committee : Professor Thomas Alexander Hunter, Victoria University College, on behalf of University Staffs; Professor Robert John Bell, University of Otago, on behalf of University Staffs; Charles Edward Crawford, Secretary, Teachers' Superannuation Board ; Miss Nelly Euphemia Coad, Mistress, Wellington Girls' College. The Committee continued to sit until 12.30 p.m. and, on the motion of Mr. J. A. Nash, it was resolved, That the Committee ask leave of the House to sit in the afternoon. The Committee resumed at 3 p.m., when an order of reference granting leave to sit was read.
