In addition to these successes, 4,262 candidates passed sections of t-he examinations for degrees or for admission to professions; 172 gained certificates of proficiency. There were 166 candidates for the Entrance Scholarship Examination, 30 gaining scholarships, 75 others passing the examination with credit, and 46 qualifying for matriculation. The number of candidates for the University Entrance Examination was 4,779, of whom 2,703 passed the examination.
